What does website maintenance cost.
It depends on what you mean by maintenance. Here are published ranges from outside sources, what each one covers, and where Yulpo’s $99 a month fits.

Four costs that get lumped together.
Sources use the word maintenance for different things, which is why the ranges vary so much. It helps to split it into four parts:
- Hosting. The server your site lives on, usually billed monthly or yearly.
- Domain. Your web address, usually renewed once a year.
- Technical upkeep. Software updates, security and backups.
- Content changes. Hours, menus, prices, staff, photos and pages.
Published ranges.
These are the figures as published by each source. Most come from companies that sell these services, so read them as vendor figures, not independent research. We do not publish our own average, because these sources measure different things.
| Source | Published figure | What it covers | Source type |
|---|---|---|---|
| Forbes Advisor | Hosting and apps $15 to $150 a month. Maintenance $20 to $100 a year. A dedicated website management service “can cost several hundred dollars every month.” | Small informational site. Its maintenance figure leaves out hosting and labor. | Publisher with affiliate links |
| GoDaddy | $50 to $500 a month | Small to medium business site. Lists content updates such as services, hours and promotions. | Vendor figure |
| Hostinger | $35 to $500 a month | Small to medium business websites. | Vendor figure |
| WebFX | $35 to $100 a month for a small business website. The same page also shows $3,600 to $12,000 for small businesses. | Agency figures that do not line up, so read with care. | Vendor figure (agency) |
| WP Buffs | $50 to $200 a month | Business site. Published September 2024. | Vendor figure |
| WPX | $50 to $300 a month | Small business. Seen in a search result snippet. | Vendor figure (host) |

Where $99 a month sits.
Yulpo is free to start, then $99 a month with no setup fee. That price is for keeping your existing site right: keeping your hours, menus, prices, services, photos and pages current, with Yulpo suggesting updates along the way.
$99 falls inside every monthly vendor range in the table, toward the lower end of most. Those ranges cover different mixes of hosting, upkeep and content, so compare like with like.
- GoDaddy$50 to $500
- Hostinger$35 to $500
- WebFX$35 to $100
- WP Buffs$50 to $200
- WPX$50 to $300
Monthly vendor ranges from the table above. Forbes Advisor is left out because its figures are split by type. Bars show each published range, not an average.
The monthly plan is month to month. You can cancel anytime, with no cancellation fee, and the service stops at the end of the month you have paid for.
If you leave, your site, your domain and any design Yulpo made stay yours. Yulpo just stops making changes.
How to compare quotes.
- Ask which of the four parts are included: hosting, domain, technical upkeep and content changes.
- Ask how many changes a month are covered.
- Ask who notices when something goes stale.
- Ask about setup fees and contract length.
- Ask what happens to your site and domain if you stop.
