How to update your website yourself.
Honest steps for a WordPress site. Most changes take a few minutes once you know where to look. Or just tell Yulpo.

Before you start.
- Find your login. On most WordPress sites it is your web address followed by /wp-admin.
- Know who hosts your site, in case you get stuck.
- Check that your host keeps backups, or make one.
- List every place the detail appears: pages, footer, PDFs and banners.
Change text, hours or prices.
- Log in, then open Pages in the left menu.
- Find the page and choose Edit.
- Click the text and type the change.
- Choose Save. Older versions of WordPress say Update.
- Open the page on your phone and check it.
Add a photo.
- Edit the page and choose the plus button to add a block.
- Pick Image, then Upload, and choose your photo.
- Add short alt text that describes the photo.
- Choose Save, then check the page.
Check the places people forget.
- Hours in the footer or sidebar
- The contact page
- Menu or price list PDFs
- Old holiday or event notices
- Your Google Business Profile and other listings. Our holiday hours checklist has the steps.
Or just tell Yulpo.
If you would rather skip all of this, Yulpo handles it. Mention a change in passing in Muse, or by email, and he finds every place it belongs, shows you, and puts it live once you say yes.
Yulpo suggests: Found your old price in three places. Update all three?
You reply: YesThe second and third places a detail hides.

Good to know
How often should a website be updated?
Whenever something customers rely on changes: hours, prices, menus, staff or services. A quick check each month catches what slipped through.
Where do I log in to WordPress?
On most sites, add /wp-admin to the end of your web address. If that does not work, your host can tell you.
What if I break something?
WordPress keeps earlier versions of each page, called revisions, so you can go back. If in doubt, ask your host before you change anything big.
Does updating my website help SEO?
A current website gives Google and AI assistants the right details about you. We do not promise rankings.
